About

My name is Kellen Mond

My Work

Mond captures the soul of overlooked environments through atmospheric realism photography and translates the everyday world into emotionally visual stories. His work focuses on urban landscapes and natural spaces as a form of cultural storytelling. Within these environments, he reveals the narratives embedded in the structures people build.

Working with a nomadic approach, Mond seeks out extraordinary moments where others see the ordinary. His editing process amplifies the existing mood while staying rooted in realism. His photographic eye was developed through freedom and exploration rather than formal training and was shaped by time spent moving through diverse environments. Drawing inspirations from Todd Hido, William Eggleston, and Michael Massaia, he serves as a translator between place and viewer. Through his lens, the untold stories planted in everyday spaces are revealed, transforming the overlooked into the unforgettable.

My Journey

‍ ‍In 2021, I picked up a camera for the first time, seeking a peaceful escape from the fast-paced world of NFL football. With no real knowledge beyond how to turn it on and use autofocus, I started to capture anything that drew my attention, including graffiti, paintings, luxury cars, and architecture. While I didn’t know how to edit, the process of discovery pulled me in. As I grew more comfortable behind the lens, I began to grasp the nuances of composition and color and slowly started developing a style that felt uniquely mine.

Photography became a deeply personal and solitary pursuit, a time where it’s just me and my camera, finding harmony in any environment. Over thousands of hours and countless frames, I’ve honed my craft, traveling across continents to refine my vision. My eye now instinctively knows what it wants to see; my camera simply becomes the tool to translate that vision into reality.
